In addition, millions more were working full-time, year-round, yet earned less than the official poverty level for a family of four. In 2011, the latest year available, that number was 17.9 million, 17.6 percent of full-time, full-year workers (estimated from\u00a0Current Population Survey, Bur. of the\u00a0 Census, 9\/2012).<\/a><\/p>\n

In October 2012, the latest month available, the number of job openings was 3.7\u00a0million<\/b>,\u00a0“little changed from September. The number of openings was little changed in all industries except in construction, manufacturing, and accommodation and food services, which increased. The number of openings was also little changed in all four regions in October. The level of total nonfarm job openings in October was up from 2.4 million at the end of the recession in June 2009. ”\u00a0Job Openings and Labor Turnover Estimates<\/a>, December 11, 2012.+<\/p>\n
